We have asked each manufacturer for advice and below their “story":
How can I disassemble my Artiteq picture suspension system and reinstall it elsewhere?
The rail sits quite firmly on the clips because it needs to be fixed properly and securely. The system is in principle intended for one-time installation. After dismantling all parts, it is important to carefully inspect all components and replace damaged parts. The clips and plugs must always be replaced with new ones after disassembly. The best way to remove the rail from the clips is to pry the rail out of the clip with a flat, wide screwdriver on the underside, directly at the clip. Start on one side and then work your way to the left or right. To prevent/limit damage to the wall, it is useful to hold a plate (steel or aluminum) under the screwdriver. Depending on the type of wall, the plug may be pulled out of the wall.
How do I remove a Stas picture rail and use it again?
When you want to remove the rail from the mounting clips, it is best to use a flat screwdriver. Keep a cloth around the screwdriver to avoid damaging the rail. Place the screwdriver at the beginning of the rail at the bottom between the rail and the wall. Now carefully move the screwdriver upwards so that the end of the rail springs off the fastening clips. When you have made a start, you can carefully pull the rail further away from the wall by hand. You can also - instead of a screwdriver - use a separate piece of rail to remove the mounted rail - see video. We recommend that you use new wall clips and wall plugs for re-assembling the rail and do not place them in the same position in the rail.
How can I disassemble and re-use my Newly picture hanging system?
The rail clips are in principle intended for one-time mounting. However, it is possible to disassemble the rail and then use it again. We recommend the following method: Start at one end. Grab the rail with both hands with the thumbs under the rail. Then push the rail a few millimeters up towards the ceiling. Tilt the rail top back so that the bottom is forward, then lift the rail off the clips. For re-using the rail, we recommend using new wall clips and plugs.
